nexAir Completes new Propane Filling Facility

Memphis, Tenn., August 1, 2011– Memphis-based atmospheric gases and welding supplies distributor nexAir has added a new propane filling plant to its production plant and distribution facility located at 1211 N. McLean in Memphis.

The new propane plant increases nexAir’s propane cylinder fill capacity by 400 percent. Currently nexAir’s propane volume is up 52 percent and is expected to continue to grow. In addition to this increased volume capacity, the system provides a safer operating and filling environment.

“With the addition of this propane plant, we will be able to respond more quickly to customer orders and provide more efficiency than ever before,” said Chuck Britton, vice president of plant operations for nexAir. “This installment helps demonstrate our commitment to serving the forklift propane market with enhanced safety and service.”

nexAir’s propane cylinder filling system was custom-designed by Paul Akers Inc., and the facility was constructed by LCI Construction. The plant is also protected by a fire suppression system that pumps water at 20 gallons per minute.
