What is a CNC plasma cutting machine?

First, let’s talk about what this machine is and the function it serves. A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) cutting machine helps allow the reliable movement of raw materials to be cut using a plasma torch. 

These machines are used to cut heavy-duty materials like steel, metals, wood, and more. How does it work? Gas is blown at a high rate from a nozzle in a CNC plasma cutter. While this is happening, an electrical arc forms between the gas coming out of the nozzle and the surface being cut.

Some of the gas is converted into plasma, with plasma temperatures ranging from 10,000 to 50,000 degrees. The plasma is extremely hot, enough to melt the material being cut, and it blows any molten metal away from the cut site.
